About Us

My name is Renee Tucker, a Chicago native who moved to this charming town over 15 years ago and instantly fell in love with the community. I purchased and renovated an old church into Shelbyville's first wedding venue, bringing in thousands of new visitors over the years. Many of those guests needed a place to stay, and most of them would stay at The Shelby Inn. I saw a need for additional rooms for my larger parties and renovated a darling brick home down the street we call 909 & Vine.

Over the years, I developed a great relationship with Ken, the prior owner of The Shelby Inn. His family operated the hotel for over 40 years and his personal touch carried the hotel through decades of service. When Ken decided to sell, he felt I was the perfect person to carry on the legacy. I'm honored to take the reins and excited for new adventures as a hotelier.

My business partner Dustin Christensen also has roots here. After his great aunt and uncle Chuck and Norma Hubbartt passed away, Dustin acquired their long-time Shelbyville home. After renovating the home, we renamed it "The Hub", and it continues to host family gatherings, keeping their memory alive.

Together Dustin and I decided to add another house to our offering. With two large homes and a 41 room hotel, we wanted something quaint and FUN to offer our guests. The Queen City Cottage nailed it for us, completing our list of accommodations to serve our community. We can't wait for you to stay with The Inn Crowd at The Queen City Cottage
